Company Vision
To support and positively impact the lives of dedicated professionals to achieve their aspirations in work and life and to maintain their personal well-being.
A Personal Note for Owners:
Running your own business is demanding. Customer-client-patient satisfaction and staff-engagement issues are not for the faint of heart. As an owner, you are the leader. You set the culture. We may have learned about leadership and business skills in college or grad school. Boots on the ground is different. Working ‘in the business’ comes naturally. You know your product/craft. It’s “working on the business” that really ramps things up and takes over your life. I can help you get clear on priorities, act on them, set good boundaries, be your business thought-partner and hold you accountable for taking action to make needed changes.
A Personal Note to all Clients:
The coaching process provides support and accountability. I facilitate a client’s exploration and growth by asking big questions, bringing attention to patterns of behavior and thought that may be stumbling blocks and limit potential. You can count on me to help you discover and practice the behavior and mindset changes you need to be successful and take care of your well-being. Assessment is also very helpful to hone in on developmental opportunities and set realistic goals. Reading about how to do something new, listening to a podcast, or attending a workshop are not enough to achieve significant lasting behavior change. Cleo Coaching’s five-stage process accelerates self-awareness, emotional intelligence (EQ), development of new skills, confidence, competence, and well-being.
Allison Johnsen
Founder
I personally know a thing or two about being a high-energy, high-achieving person, and I learned the hard way how important it is to not overcommit and to take good care of yourself while you serve your organization and others. I practice what I preach about self-care by going outside to recharge by doing almost anything that ends in “ing”—hiking, sailing, skiing, bicycling, gardening, traveling.
I am the eldest of my parents' four children. If you know anything about birth order and temperament, don't hold it against me! I did the usual thing: went to college, got married (more than once), worked, volunteered, and raised three children.
At 41, after working in the training, business, and professional development field, I was about to start a second career as a psychotherapist. But before releasing newly minted therapists to go forth and help others, my graduate program required us to undergo a battery of psychological and personality assessments. The results were delivered by a panel of psychology professors, who told me my personality, skills, education, and business experience were well-suited for a specialization in organizational psychology and executive coaching. Well then...
I pursued post-grad training for executive coaching with the College of Executive Coaching, Institute of Coaching, and International Coaching Federation. I counseled adults, specializing in anxiety disorder treatment (many high achievers and perfectionists), transitions, and relationship conflict. I no longer practice as a psychotherapist, but the experience was invaluable. I have coached hundreds of professionals from all walks of life, including healthcare, veterinary medicine, advertising, finance, law, banking, engineering, technology, faith-based organizations, marketing, manufacturing, and public relations. I now exclusively coach high-performing professionals, leaders, founders, and healthcare clinicians. Those grad school professors were right. I love this work and I’m good at it.

“The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader adjusts the sails.”
– John Maxwell
“Allison has exceptionally high emotional intelligence and is very easy to connect with on any level. She is well-read and a great listener, who can offer advice in just about any situation regarding work or life in general. I find so much value in her guidance that I have continued our sessions remotely despite moving to another state for work.”
